New Taxi Rates - January 9th 2017

As of Monday 9th January 2017, ourselves and Alpha Taxis will increase our fares at midnight.

Having kept our fares as low as possible in recent years, we feel a small increase is needed due to increasing costs for Insurance, Fuel, Licensing etc.

The new increase will be 20p on the mile.

So it's going from £2.60 to £2.80 for the first mile.

In addition to this, on Friday and Saturday from 7pm to 4am, there will be an additional surcharge of 50p added to the fare.

We hope that all our customers intrust and appreciate that this fare increase is needed.

And going forward, we will be giving you the best available service.

The team at Johnstone TOA are now offering all schools in Johnstone a free delivery service for donations made to Renfrewshire Foodbank.

Since March we have worked closely with Renfrewshire Foodbank and provide a number of free services in support of the charity. This includes a free customer delivery service and free transport for Renfrewshire Foodbank volunteers living in the Johnstone area.

The additional service provided by Johnstone TOA isdesigned to encourage schools in Johnstone to consider Renfrewshire Foodbank in its fundraising activities.

Wallace Primary in Elderslie has used the free service twice and would encourage other schools to get involved.

Susan Carlton, head teacher at Wallace Primary, said: “The free delivery service provided by Johnstone TOA is a marvellous idea and makes the process of donating food supplies a simple one. I would encourage other schools in the area to get on board. I would also like to say a big thank-you to all the pupils and parents, once again we have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of all food and cash donations.”

Johnstone TOA help out at Wallace Primary

JTOAJune 2014

On Monday 9 June, pupils at Wallace Primary took part in a food collection for Renfrewshire Foodbank.

As a strong supporter of Renfrewshire Foodbank, we were only too happy to deliver the food for free to the charities warehouse in Paisley. The food collection was then distributed to households throughout the Renfrewshire area.

To show support for both the school and Johnstone TOA’s foodbank campaign, local MP Douglas Alexander visited the school with two bags of dried food.

Johnstone TOA offers free delivery service

To help attract more volunteers for Renfrewshire Foodbank, Johnstone TOA has offered to operate a free mini-bus service from Johnstone railway station to the food bank’s warehouse in Paisley.

Since March we have been proud to support Renfrewshire Foodbank by offering a free delivery service. Customers and local people are encouraged to donate supplies to their Johnstone TOA driver or at the taxi firm’s rank at Johnstone train station. All donations are then delivered – free of charge - to Renfrewshire Food bank’s warehouse in Paisley.

Extending our food bank delivery service to offer free transport for volunteers in the Johnstone area has been an easy decision for our management team, and we hope the service is well used by local people.

Local food bank receives a special delivery

Johnstone TOA Taxis Helping Local Food BanksMarch 2014

Kind hearted staff at Johnstone TOA were saddened to hear there had been a shortage of food being delivered to the local food bank. With this in mind they decided to take matters into their own hands and provide some of the areas most underprivileged people with much needed food supplies.

The idea for the food donation is the brainchild of Johnstone TOA’s general manager, Debbie Anderson.

Debbie 33, from Johnstone, said: "I'm a mum of three and it just breaks my heart to think local people, including young families, are so strapped for cash they they cannot afford to have a decent meal. We have over sixty people here at TOA and I decided we have to do our bit for the community, especially as there is a food distribution centre practically on our doorstep."

The busy taxi firm, which operates a free phone taxi service at Morrisons in Johnstone, have vowed to keep on delivering to Renfrewshire Foodbank's Warehouse in Abercorn Street, Paisley. The company will shortly be appealing to their customers through Social Media and Supermarket Bookings and hope to encourage customers to buy a few extra tins when shopping and hand them to their taxi driver.

Johnstone TOA Foodbank Campaign

The Renfrewshire Foodbank is in desperate need of supplies. As a local business the team at Johnstone TOA are offering a free delivery service to its warehouse in Paisley.

We understand people have busy lives and even though the may want to help local people down on their luck, they simply don't have the time.

We would like to encourage any customers travelling from the supermarket in one of our taxis to hand a small bag of tins and dried food to our driver, who will ensure it is taken to the charity's warehouse in Paisley.
